What are your plans for after you graduate?
Ideally, I would like to get a job in the fashion industry- preferably on the creative side in an exciting location
Do you see yourself actually following through with those plans?
Of Course! I never back down from my goals, and Ii wouldn’t have it any other way.
Why Texas State?
Because of the Fashion Program and laid back location! Most people don’t know this, but Texas State’s Fashion Merchandising program is rated as one of the top three in the nation. My hometown is only about an hour and a half away too, which was initially attractive to me because I didn’t want to be too far from home. I am also originally from a small, hill country town, and the idea of moving to a city right out of high school was intimidating to me. San Marcos was perfect because it is close to two major cities, but is small enough for me to navigate without getting lost or stuck in traffic! Oh, I also may or may not have snuck out and attended a couple of fraternity parties here while i was still in high school…..which probably added some cool points to Texas State in my book at the time
Favorite activity in San Marcos:
Enjoying the square and all of the cool, quirky, local businesses (and quirky locals….hello, frisbee dan)!
Who is your role model? Why her/him?
Everyone in my family is so inspirational and amazing to me! I admire my mothers strength and gracious spirit, and I look up to my brother because of all he has accomplished for himself at such a young age.
Favorite movie:
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off! Ferris was definitely my first crush, and I wanted to BE Sloan when i grew up, until i turned 12 and realized that was impossible.
Favorite restaurant in San Marcos:
This is a tough one, but I’d have to say it’s a tie between Root Cellar and Palmer’s….brunch at Root Cellar, Dinner and happy hour at Palmer’s. (Rare, ahi tuna steak please:) )
Would you prefer to live somewhere else when you graduate, or do you want to stay in the San Marcos/Austin area?
I honestly get so bored living in the same place for longer than 2-3 years, so I am definitely very ready for a change of scenery! I love this area, but want to see the rest of the world before i get back to my roots and start a family. San Marcos will always have a special place in my heart though. Plus, it’s the home of the Dozen! xoxo
